Instructions

    • 1

Choose clothing pieces in regal colors such as deep purples, maroon reds and emerald greens. Don't be afraid to mix the colors, they do not necessarily have to match. Put on the long-sleeved shirt and add the vest. Choose fabrics that have a glossy sheen or rich texture to them, such as velour, silk and satin.

    • 2

Tuck the shirt and vest into the sweat pants and tuck the sweat pants into the boots so they puff out a bit. Choose pants that are a dark color and boots that are black or brown. Select sweats made of velour, velvet or other rich fabrics. A loose pair of silk, satin or rayon pants also will work.

    • 3

Drape the blanket over your shoulders and pin the ends of the small piece of rope to both the ends of the blanket, forming a cloak. Cover the pins by attaching a large glittering earring to either side of the rope as an accent. Choose a velvet or brocade blanket so it has a rich look to it. If this is not available, try a silk or satin sheet.

    • 4

Attach a glittering broach to the center of the shirt to add a regal touch. Wrap a piece of masking tape around the bottom of the sleeves. Paint the tape with a glittery gold paint. In lieu of masking tape and paint, use a pair of sequined arm bands or headbands wrapped around the wrist.

    • 5

Mold a three-pronged crown out of tinfoil. Fold the bottom of the crown around an elastic headband. Wrap the headband around your head so the crown rests against your forehead. If desired, glue some craft-store gems to the front of the crown for some added glitz.

Tips & Warnings

  • Carry a French flag or incorporate the French flag colors (blue, white and red) into the accessories or cloak.
