How to Restore Backup Files in Windows XP

When you back up your files with the Windows XP Backup utility, you may find that--at some point in the future--you need to restore the files that you backed up. Use the backup utility to do so.

Instructions

1. Click on the "Start" button, click "Accessories," click on "System Tools," then "Backup," and then click the "Next" button.

2. Select "Restore files and settings," and then click the "Next" button.

3. Navigate to your backup using the pane on the left side and then select which folders you want to restore. Navigate in this pane by clicking on the "+" symbol next to folder names until you have reached the folder that contains the backup. Click the "Next" button.

4. Click on the "Finish" button and then click "Close" once the backup restoration completes.
