How to Open MSN Messenger Online
Chatting online with your co-workers, friends and family can save you time by allowing you to have multiple conversations at once. When you are traveling or are not able to use your personal computer, you can still keep in touch with all of your important contacts through Microsoft's web version of MSN Messenger. This version allows you to access the basics of MSN Messenger without downloading the program, making it great for use at the library or in Internet cafes.

Go to the Windows Live Messenger (MSN Messenger Online) login page (see Resources section). Windows Live notes that you are able to view your email inbox and view which of your contacts are online to chat with at the same time.

Click the "Get Started Now" button to access the Windows Live login page.

Type your Windows Live ID (username) and password into the appropriate fields and click the "Sign In" button. A list of your email and messenger contacts will appear, similar to your buddy list on your home version of MSN Messenger. This list will allow you to chat with anyone who is online.

Select a contact to chat with and type a message.

Click the "Send" button to send your message to the contact you have selected, starting your conversation.

Tips & Warnings
You can start an instant message conversation with an online contact by clicking on his username, writing a message and sending it to him.
Your Windows Live ID is the same as the email address you registered with. If you are having trouble signing in, be sure you are entering your entire email address and that you are typing your password correctly.
