Instructions

    • 1

Spread out a sheet of newspaper outdoors and paint the dowel using the glitter spray paint. Allow the paint to dry while you complete the star shapes for the top of the wand.

    • 2

Trace the shape of the star cookie cutter onto the poster board with a pencil. Make two identical stars for each fairy wand. Cut out the stars using scissors.

    • 3

Spread school glue or hot glue over one side of each star shape and apply glitter, beads and crystals. Allow the stars to dry.

    • 4

Glue the undecorated sides of the stars to the dowel using hot glue. Align the star points and glue them together so that the wand looks like it has a single star on top.

    • 5

Tie several lengths of ribbon to the dowel just below the base of the star. Secure the ribbon in place with a dot of glue, if necessary.

Tips & Warnings

  • Take your child with you to the craft store to pick out the decorations for her wand.

  • Do not apply beads or crystals to fairy wands that are intended for children under age 3 since they are a choking hazard.

  • Do not allow children to operate the hot glue gun.
