How to Make a House Smell As Good As a Country Store

Things You'll Need
- 3- or 5-quart sauce pot with lid
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 tablespoons of allspice
- 2 tablespoons of juniper berries
- 1 large navel orange
- Essential oils
- Knife
- Mixing spoon
- Peeler
- Stove top or electric burner

Fill a 3- or 5-quart pot with water. Place pot on a stove top or electric burner. Place the temperature gauge on low to simmer.

Add 2 cinnamon sticks to the water. Any size cinnamon sticks will suffice; they can be found at your local market.

Measure 2 tablespoons of allspice and 2 tablespoons of juniper berries, and then add to the water.

Slice the navel orange in half. Squeeze the juice of half of the orange into the pot. Peel that same half with a peeler and drop the peel into the mix.

Add 10 to 12 drops of essential oil such as lime, orange, or lemongrass into the water. Stir to combine ingredients.

Place a lid on the pot for approximately 3 to 5 minutes to allow the mixture to steam. Remove lid.

Leave the pot on the stove on the lowest setting. Refill the pot with water as needed. Enjoy the aromatic scent throughout your home.
