Make sure you have the minimum number of hours completed. In Louisiana, the state requirement is 750 hours in an approved school of cosmetology to be eligible for an esthetician license. Without these hours completed, licensing is not possible.

4
Pass the state examinations. According to the Louisiana Board of Cosmetology, all individuals intent on becoming estheticians must pass the required state board examinations. This will be done after having completed your schooling and required hours.

5
Pay license fees. The Louisiana state board will require fees to be paid upon completion of exams in order to get your esthetician license. Once all of these steps are completed, begin your search for jobs in spas and salons, skin care centers, and other businesses employing professionals in the field of cosmetology.
