How to Fix the Dumbwaiter on Nancy Drew: Message in a Haunted Mansion

Fixing the dumbwaiter requires the use of an iron.

In order to complete the "Nancy Drew: Message in a Haunted Mansion" (also known as "Nancy Drew: MIAHM") video game, players must solve a variety of puzzles. Completing these puzzles unlocks new items and progresses the story. Fixing the dumbwaiter is one such puzzle, and players cannot beat the game until they solve the mystery.

Instructions

1. Load the "Nancy Drew: Message in a Haunted Message" video game and use the back staircase in Nancy's room to go downstairs.

2. Find the dumbwaiter in the downstairs hallway. It should be on the right side of the wall.

3. Open the dumbwaiter's cover.

4. Attach the iron to the dumbwaiter's rope by dragging the iron onto the room with your mouse. You should have already gotten the iron when you opened the chest next to the doll's head earlier in the game. This will immediately fix the dumbwaiter.
