How to Contact the Technical Department for Yahoo Instant Messenger

Yahoo offers email-based support for Yahoo Messenger users.

Although Yahoo Messenger is a free service, Yahoo offers technical support to its users. Yahoo accepts support requests through their customer care contact page, giving users who are experiencing problems an opportunity to receive help. Contact Yahoo for support if you have an unresolved technical issue with Yahoo Messenger.

Instructions

1. Browse to the Yahoo Messenger customer care contact page using the link in the "Resources" section of this article. Select the version of Yahoo Messenger you have: versions 8.1, 9.0, 10.0 and Yahoo! Messenger for Mac are supported.

2. Enter your Yahoo ID and password in the provided text fields and click "Sign In."

3. Scroll to the "Email" section at the bottom of the window and click the technical support link. For example, if you selected Yahoo Messenger 10 in the previous step, your link would read "Messenger 10 Technical Support."

4. Click the drop-down menu labeled "Topic" and select the type of issue that most closely matches what you need help with, such as "Messenger is Crashing."

5. Explain the problem you are experiencing with Yahoo Messenger as fully as possible. If you are receiving any error messages, make sure to include them.

6. Use the drop-down messages under "Tell us more about your computer" to enter details about your computer, such as your type of Internet connection and operating system.

7. Enter your name and email address under "How may we contact you?"

8. Click the "Submit" button. Yahoo will examine your support request and reply to you as quickly as possible.
