How to Reset a Password on an E1705 Dell

Reset your password on your Dell E1705.

Dell's Inspiron E1705 is a laptop built for entertainment purposes such as watching movies and listening to music. If you own an Inspiron E1705, you may want to change your password on a regular basis. This will inhibit someone from using your computer without your permission. The laptop, comes with either Windows XP or Windows Vista operating system, makes it easy to reset your password.

Instructions

Windows XP

1. Hit the "Start" button in the bottom left corner of your desktop.

2. Scroll up and hit "Control Panel."

3. Select "User Accounts."

4. Hit the "Change my Password" option.

5. Type your password, new password and confirm it in the fields that are provided on the next page.

6. Close all windows.

Windows Vista

1. Press the "Control," "Alt" and "Delete" keys simultaneously on your keyboard.

2. Hit the "Change a password" option.

3. Enter your old password, new password and confirm your new password in the fields that are provided.

4. Hit "Enter."
