How to Make Cell Phone Conversations More Private
Keeping your cell phone conversations to yourself is only polite, especially if you are in a public place or in a room full of people. If you find yourself in a situation where you need to talk privately, there are a few things you can do to ensure that nobody is uncomfortable or annoyed. By simply being aware of your surroundings, your cell phone conversation can stay between you and the person on the other end.

1
Excuse yourself from the crowd and step aside to find somewhere that it will be easier to concentrate, such as a corner or a bathroom.
-
2
Turn the volume on your cell phone's earpiece down so that anybody standing close to you won't be able to hear whomever you are talking to. Turn away so that you are not facing anybody.

3
Talk very softly into the microphone, cupping your hand over the mouthpiece if necessary to make sure nobody can hear what you are saying. Explain to the person on the other end of the call that you are in a public place and won't be able to talk too loudly.
-
4
Hang up as soon as possible. If the conversation is urgent and needs to take place immediately, find a private place where you can call the person back.
