Refill the HP C8728A cartridge

The HP C8728A, also known as the HP 28, is an inkjet cartridge used in a variety of HP home desktop printing models. With the wide availability of inkjet refill kits, many consumer are choosing to refill their empty cartridges from home for a fraction of the cost of a new cartridge. If you want to take advantage of this trend and refill your cartridge, you can do so easily with printer ink and a plastic syringe.

Things You'll Need

• Empty HP C8728A cartridge
• Paper towels
• Plastic syringe
• Magenta ink
• Yellow ink
• Cyan ink

Instructions

1. Position the empty HP C8728A cartridge upright on a layer of paper towels.

2. Remove the top label carefully so that it does not tear.

3. Fill the syringe with 5 ml. of magenta ink and insert it into the refill hole on the top center of the cartridge. Release the ink slowly into the refill hole.

4. Fill the syringe with 5 ml. of yellow printer ink and insert it into the refill hole located to the bottom left of the magenta hole. Slowly release the ink.

5. Fill the syringe with 5 ml. of cyan ink and insert it into the refill hole to the bottom right of the magenta refill hole. Release all of the ink slowly.

6. Replace the label and leave the cartridge upright for 8 hours before using in the printer.
