Learn how to make money on lab research studies.

Medical labs specialize in testing new drugs, and as such, they are often looking for paid volunteers. In order to become a paid volunteer, you must find a study in your area that you're qualified for.

Instructions

    • 1

Contact your local college. Often, the local college has research studies going on. This is especially true if your local college has a medical school or teaching hospital, but the psychology department of your local school may also be looking for test subjects for lab studies. Call to have your name added to the list of volunteers.

Contact health care companies in your area. For example, Basset Healthcare Network is one company with a presence in multiple areas that is always looking for participants for clinical trials; Aurora Healthcare is another such company. You can submit your name and contact to them (or to other companies in your area) to be contacted by their clinical research departments as a prospective volunteer. To find these companies, you can search in the phone book.

Visit the websites for the National Institute of Health's clinical research centers and clinical research network. These sites will give you links to a variety of clinical research centers who may be looking for volunteers for studies; you can contact the centers then to see if you qualify for any study they are currently holding.

Review the study information and guidelines. Make sure you find out exactly what you have to do, how much you will get paid, and what the dangers of participating are, before you agree to be a part of any research study.
