How to Add a Hyperlink To PowerPoint
PowerPoint has a wealth of features that allows users to customize their slide show just the way they want. One of these features is the ability to add hyperlinks. Most people think of hyperlinks as links to webpages. However, PowerPoint uses hyperlinks in several ways, including sending users to a different slide in the presentation, an email address or to a file. The hyperlink tool can be useful when you want to guide users seamlessly to different area of the presentations or even to websites.

Navigate to the slide where you would like to insert a hyperlink.

Highlight the text or object that you wish to turn into a hyperlink. Highlight an object, such as a photo, by clicking on it. Highlight text by clicking and dragging.

Select the "Insert" tab at the top of the program then click "Hyperlink" in the Ribbon. This opens a new window where you can customize your hyperlink.

Select your desired link for the text or object in the "Insert Hyperlink" window and click "OK." There are five different types of data you can link to: a webpage, a slide in the current presentation, a slide in a different presentation, an email address or a new file. See Tips for specific instructions for each type of hyperlink.

Tips & Warnings
Email: Click the "E-mail Address" button on the left side of the "Insert Hyperlink" window. Type in the email address in the corresponding text box then click "OK."
Slide in presentation: Click the "Place in this document" button. Click the slide you want to link to in the left pane. Click "OK" to finish adding the hyperlink.
Slide in different presentation: Click the "Existing File" button on the left side of the window. Locate the slide show file that you want to link to then click "Bookmark." Choose your desired slide then click "OK."
New File: Click the "Create New Document" button on the left side of the window. Type in the file name and choose when if you want to edit the document later or now. Click "OK" to finish.
Webpage: Click the "Web Page" button on the left side of the window. Type in the address in the "Address" text box then click "OK."
