How to Make Stick Figure Movies Online for Free

You can use a website to create a fun video using stick figures.

Stick-figure movies are animations that feature simple "stick men" dancing, walking, or doing anything else that you wish. By making and saving multiple poses in a row and then playing them all together, you can make a fun video, save it to your computer, and send it to your friends. Although creating an entire video isn't too difficult, it can be quite tedious to put together, so set aside time to accomplish the task.

Instructions

1. Research websites that allow you to create free stick-figure animation such as Stickpage.com (see Resources). You can also find a website that allows you to download a stick-figure animator program to your computer to be used at any time (see Resources).

2. Open your downloaded program or click "Begin" on the open website. You will start with a single stick figure, and you can add however many more you want by clicking "Import." If at any time you wish to remove a stick figure, click on "Export."

3. Play around with the controls to get used to them. By clicking and dragging the joints of the stick figure, you can create all kinds of poses and movements. Create the first "frame" of your movie by positioning the stick figure as you wish. When you are ready to move on, click "Next Frame."

4. Reposition your stick figure so that his movements vary only slightly from the first frame. Create each frame so that when they are combined, the stick figure/figures move smoothly. To view the movie's progress at any time, click the "Play" button. If you need to adjust any of the frames, click on the "Stop" button and fix the positioning of the stick figure.

5. Click "Save" or "Send" (if the website or program allows it) after you are finished.
