How to Send Text Messages to Verizon Customers
Americans send more than 1 trillion text messages annually, according to IntoMobile. This staggering number of messages proves that text messaging is more prevalent than ever, fast becoming one of the more popular means of communication. Sending text messages was expensive years ago, but now has become much more affordable and even free at times. Sending text messages to Verizon customers has become easier than ever in the past year with the advent of a few new free texting online tools.

Open any Web browser on your computer, such as Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera or Firefox.

Go to Verizon's "Send a Text Message" online texting page. The direct link to this site is located in the Resources section of this article.

Enter the Verizon wireless number you wish to send a text message to in the "Send To" field. Do not include spaces, dashes or parenthesis. Separate multiple wireless numbers with commas if sending a text message to more than one Verizon wireless number simultaneously.

Type your message into the "Your Message" field.

Type your name into the "From" field. This will show up in the final text message to the Verizon wireless customer to identify who the message is from.

Enter your phone number into the "Callback Number" field. Again, this is done without spaces, dashes or parenthesis.

Click the "Send" button. The entire message has a 140 character limit.

Tips & Warnings
All entries in all fields count toward the 140 character limit, so be concise with your message or consider sending multiple messages if you are conveying a large amount of information to your recipient.
