How to Make Peace Signs in MySpace Characters

Make peace symbols with alt codes.

If you have ever wondered why some of your Myspace friends are able to type out symbols, such as peace signs, in text fields along with words in messages or on display names, it isn't a special keyboard. You can type out the very same symbols using the keyboard you already have, and you don't need to copy and paste them from your friend's post or comment. You simply need to learn "alt codes" to type them.

Instructions

1. Push the "Num Lock" button at the top of your keyboard so you can use the number keys at the right side of your keyboard.

2. Click on the text field where you want to place your peace sign and hold down your "Alt" key--do not let go of it until you are completely done entering the code for the peace sign.

3. Enter the code (☮) exactly as it appears, but without the parentheses, on your keypad. Do not use the row of numbers below the "F" keys--they will not work. If you have a laptop, the number keys you need also have letters on them, so also hold the function ("Fn") key while holding the "Alt " key as you enter the code.

4. Let go of the "Alt" key (and "Fn" key if using a laptop) after you have input the ";". Your peace sign will appear with your text.

• Use other alt codes to make stars, hearts, music notes and many more symbols for your MySpace page.
