How to Remove Candle Wax Stains From Laminate Flooring

Accidents can occur and liquids, such as candle wax, can spill onto laminate flooring. It is essential to remove candle wax stains immediately to prevent damaging the laminate, as well as to avoid accidentally slipping on the wax. Removing candle wax stains is a simple procedure that can be accomplished with a few materials.

Things You'll Need

• Plastic bag
• Ice
• Plastic scraper
• Paper towel
• Clean washcloth
• Warm water
• Clean towel

Instructions

1. Fill a plastic bag with a generous amount of ice. Zip up the bag to contain the ice, preventing water from escaping.

2. Lay the plastic bag over the candle wax stain on the laminate floor. Keep the ice-filled plastic bag on the candle wax stain until the wax becomes very hard.

3. Remove the bag from the stain once the wax becomes very hard. Use a plastic scraper to gently scrape the candle wax from the floor.

4. Pick up the waxy residue with a paper towel, and then dispose of the paper towel. Lightly dampen a clean washcloth with warm water.

5. Wipe the floor with the washcloth to remove any residue. Dry the floor thoroughly with a clean towel to prevent water from seeping into the laminate floor joints.
