The U.S. Postal Service provides several delivery options that enable you to track your package for an extra fee or, with Priority Mail and Parcel Select services, for free. This tracking service can tell you where the package is during the delivery route. USPS.com offers an easy way to enter your tracking number online to verify the delivery status of your parcel or mail.

      Take your package or envelope to the nearest post office. Buy postage and ask for tracking or delivery confirmation service.

      Note the tracking number which appears toward the top of your receipt. Keep your receipt in a secure location. You will need the number to track your package.

      Type the following (also found on your receipt) into your Internet browser: usps.com/shipping/trackandconfirm.htm

      Enter your tracking number from your USPS receipt into the "Enter Label/Receipt Number" box on the online form/ Click on "Go" to get the results.
