How to Recover the Deleted History for Temporary Internet Files
Temporary Internet files contain information about what a user has done online. The history for these files also is important if you are investigating someone's online activity. You also might want to check your own history of temporary Internet files for sites you've visited in the past but have forgotten. Although the files might appear to be gone, there are several programs that can help recover information from these temporary files.

Choose a software program to recover temporary Internet files. There are many free or affordable programs; some are listed in the references section of this article. Make sure the program you choose is designed to recover temporary Internet file history. The program will go into your computer's hard drive and find copies of the history of the temporary Internet files that have been deleted. You can use the temporary Internet file history to determine which sites you visited, and construct a regular history from there.

Download the program onto your computer. After the download process, click "Run" to run the file on your computer, which will begin the installation process. Continue to click "OK" as you go through the installation and set-up menus. Since the program looks at temporary Internet files, you'll have to input information about your computer and your browser into the set-up portion of the download and installation.

Click on the program to run it. Wait for it to finish scanning your computer for the temporary Internet files. You can choose to restore the information to a temporary Internet file folder, or you can delete the information completely after reviewing it. The temporary Internet file history will enable you to reconstruct a history for the computer's Internet usage.
