How to Desaturate Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop is arguably the premiere photo manipulation software on the market. Photographers, graphic artists and designers alike use Photoshop to edit a digital image with its myriad of special tools and adjustment layers. One way to dramatically change an image is to desaturate the color, effectively transforming a color photo into a black and white image.

Boot up your computer. Go to the "Start" button and locate "Programs." Select "Photoshop" and click to launch it.

Locate "File" in the Photoshop menu bar. Scroll down to "Open" to find a color image to desaturate. At the "Open" window prompt, double-click on the file name to open the document.

Locate "Image" in the Photoshop menu bar, then scroll down to "Adjustments" and then select the sub-menu "Desaturate" to change the photo.

Click on the "File" menu, and scroll down to "Save As." Choose a new file name to keep your original intact.
