Everyone has their own ways are dealing with stains on the carpet. However, every now and then, your carpet is going to get covered with a substance you've never had to deal with before. Consider a red candle, which can go from unnoticed to a real annoyance with one bump that sends it spilling from a table. If this happens, you'll not only have wax in your carpet, but the red dye from the wax that will also need to be cleaned up. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Spoon
  • Ice cube
  • Iron
  • Cloth
  • Dry-cleaning solvent

Instructions

      Remove the bulk of the candle wax from the carpet with a spoon.

      Place an ice cube on top of the red wax that is left on the carpet. Pick up the ice cube after a minute once it has hardened the remaining wax.

      Lift as much of the hardened wax from the carpet with your hand.

      Plug in your clothes iron and put it on its lowest setting. Set a cloth over the remaining wax and iron on top of the cloth. The wax will melt and get stuck to the cloth.

      Scrub the spot on the carpet with dry-cleaning solvent and a sponge. This will not only get up the last of the wax, but will remove the red dye found in a red wax candle.

      Rinse the carpet with water and dry immediately. If the stain in not completely removed, repeat Step 5 and then rinse and dry again until the stain is gone.
