How to Crochet a Scarf With Fringe
Crochet a scarf with fringe to add a stylish and warm accessory to your winter coat. Or, crochet the scarf in a light cotton yarn for a simple addition to a spring or fall jacket. Things You'll Need
- 2 skeins wool, acrylic or cotton yarn
- Size H crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tape measure
- Cardboard

Chain 15 stitches.

Double crochet in the second chain from the hook and in each of the next 14 chains in the row.

Turn and continue double crocheting in each of the spaces between the 14 chains. Repeat this for each row.

Continue crocheting until the scarf is 5 feet long. End by pulling the last stitch through the last loop with the crochet hook. Cut the yarn, leaving a 4-inch tail.

Cut a piece of cardboard to measure 4 inches by 4 inches.

Wrap the yarn around the cardboard 21 times and cut the yarn. Slide the yarn off the cardboard and cut through all the pieces. Repeat three times. You will now have 84 pieces of 4-inch-long yarn.

Insert the crochet hook and three pieces of 4-inch yarn into one of the spaces between the double crochets on the end of the scarf and form a small loop. Knot the yarn fringe pieces by using the crochet hook to pull the yarn ends through the loop. Continue in each space and on both ends of the scarf.
