How to Get Dial-Up With Verizon
Having access to the Internet at home is convenient for people who need consistent access to email, messaging, online shopping and many other web resources. While broadband Internet access such as that from cable, DSL and satellite modems is popular, dial-up Internet access remains a cost-effective alternative. Verizon home telephone users can add dial-up Internet service to their plans by calling the provider's customer service line and requesting it. Once you have added dial-up Internet service to your home plan, you may schedule a technical support visit or install the modem yourself.

1
Order Verizon home telephone service if you have not already done so. Verizon dial-up works through telephone lines and requires that such lines be installed prior to connecting the Internet service. Call or contact Verizon customer service if you do not already have telephone lines installed in your location (see Resources). Choose your desired service, whether residential or business, from the main page or click the "Contact Us" link at the bottom to enter your zip code and retrieve the correct customer service telephone number for your area.

2
Call Verizon customer service to subscribe to dial-up Internet service. Schedule a Verizon installation technician visit during this call if necessary. Do not schedule a technician installation visit if you would rather install the dial-up modem yourself---in which case, Verizon will mail you a dial-up modem installation package after your order is complete.
