How to Make Paper Hat Greeting Cards
Making a paper hat that doubles as a greeting card is an arts and craft project that you can get children involved with. Whether it's for a birthday, a holiday, or any other occasion, your kids will enjoy making the hats and people of all ages will take pleasure in receiving them.

Fold a sheet of construction paper in half. Make sure that the smallest edges of the sheet meet with each other. Construction paper works best when making paper hat greeting cards.

Place the paper so that fold is the top and the side without the fold is the bottom. Fold the top corners of the paper down toward the center to form a triangular shape. Make sure to leave about an inch of paper on the bottom of the sheet when folding down the corners.

Lift the bottom flaps of the sheet of paper up on either side of the triangle. Fold the 1-inch strips over the triangle. Fold the corners of each flap in so that they aren't sticking up. Use tape to keep these corners in place.

Use crayons, markers or colored pencils to write your greeting card message on the hat. Add shapes, designs, pictures and whatever else you want to the hat based on the occasion. For example, if you are making a Valentine's Day greeting card hats, draw hearts and write "Happy Valentine's Day."
