1
Go to the home page for MSN Live Hotmail.
-
2
Click on the "Sign up" button towards the bottom of the page. This will take you to a new page where you can enter a name for your account. Click the "Check availability" button immediately below the Windows Live ID field to see if the name you chose is available or not. If not, tinker with the name until you get one that is available. One way to generate unique names is by adding numbers at the end of the name, e.g., michaelbrown1234.

Enter your first and last names and your location information in the appropriate fields. You do not have to provide your personal details here. You can use a pseudonym and a generic location if you do not want your intimate personal details to be associated with this email address.

5
Enter your gender and birth year in the relevant fields toward the bottom of the page.
-
6
Type in the characters you see above the text capture field. This step verifies that a real live person is creating the account, rather than a computer program.
