How to Unblock Sites at Home
Blocked websites in Internet Explorer 8 exist in two forms: security blocked sites and content blocked sites. Regaining accessibility to sites blocked from within IE's security settings requires nothing but knowing where to find the settings. If, however, the site in question was blocked using Explorer's Content Advisor, you will need a password to unblock them.

Security Blocked Sites

Click on the "Tools" menu on the right side of the browser window. Select "Internet Options" at the bottom of the drop-down list.

Go to the "Security" tab in the resulting dialog box.

Click on the red "Restricted sites" icon in the box at the top of the window.

Click the button labeled "Sites" just below the box at the top of the window.

Locate and select the website(s) to unblock in the "Websites" list. Then click the "Remove" button.

Click "Close" at the bottom of the window and then "OK" in the Internet Options window.
Content Blocked Sites

Go to the "Tools" menu and select "Internet Options."

Click to go to the "Content" tab.

Click the button labeled "Enable" under the "Content Advisor" area located a quarter of the way down the window. In Windows 7, you may see a dialog box asking if you want to allow this program to make changes to your computer. Click "Yes."

Go to the "Approved Sites" tab in the resulting dialog box.

Locate and select the site(s) you want to unblock from the list of approved and disapproved websites. Blocked sites have a red circle with a white minus sign in front of them. Click "Remove" to unblock them.

Click "OK" to exit. Enter the supervisor password and press "OK" to accept the changes.

Click "OK" in the "Internet Options" window to exit.

Tips & Warnings
Regardless of which method you use, the changes should take place immediately, but if they don't, restart your browser.
