How to Find Your WEP Key in Eircom

A WEP key protects your internet from unauthorized use

When adding wireless devices such as iPods, iPads and laptops to your Internet connection, it is necessary to have your WEP key. This adds a layer of security to keep other from using your wireless. Eircom's Internet is no different; it uses a long password to keep unwanted people from connecting without authorization.

Things You'll Need

• Computer
• Web browser

Instructions

1. Power on your computer and open a Web browser.

2. Navigate to "192.168.1.254"

3. Enter your password - default is "broadband1".

4. Click on the "Network" option in the menu.

5. Click on "Wireless LAN" in the Network subcategory.

6. Your pre-shared or encryption key is your WEP key.
