Removing the oil stain is difficult with normal stone cleaners because the pores of the stone hold the oil in. Things You'll Need

  • Distilled water
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • All-purpose flour
  • Water
  • Plastic wrap
  • Masking tape
  • Cloth
  • Towel

Instructions

      Apply distilled water to the oil stain.

      Combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour with 2 tbsp. of hydrogen peroxide.

      Add just enough water to the mixture to form a thick paste.

      Apply the paste to the oil stain.

      Cover the paste with plastic and tape down the edges. Poke holes in the plastic.

      Allow the paste to harden onto the stain for 24 to 48 hours.

      Saturate a cloth with distilled water.

      Wipe the paste off of the granite with the saturated cloth.

      Buff the granite dry with a clean towel.

      Repeat the process if the stain is still present.

  • Alternatively, use ammonia in place of the hydrogen peroxide.
