The HP Color LaserJet 3600 is a laser printer that has the ability to print in full color. To do this, the printer has a total of four toner cartridges, rather than the single toner cartridge found in monochrome laser printers. Each toner cartridge can be used for approximately 4,000 pages. If you find that your color pages are missing red hues, it is likely that the magenta toner cartridge is empty. Replace the magenta toner cartridge in an HP Color LaserJet 3600 if your documents contain no red colors.

Instructions

    • 1

Put your hand inside the raised plastic lip on the front of the HP Color LaserJet 3600 and pull down and forward to open the front door of the printer. With the front door opened, all four toner cartridges inside the LaserJet 3600 are visible. The magenta cartridge has a bright magenta-colored label on the front.

    • 2

Pull the magenta toner cartridge straight toward you and slightly up to remove it from the printer. Put it in a safe place such as a recycling pouch.

    • 3

Remove the replacement magenta toner cartridge from the package. Rock the cartridge slightly to make sure that the pigment is spread throughout the cartridge, then remove the bright orange plastic clips and any adhesive tape from the cartridge.

    • 4

Orient the toner cartridge so that the blue plastic handles face you, then slide the toner cartridge into the printer, making sure that the raised rails on the sides of the cartridge go inside the guides in the LaserJet 3600.

    • 5

Lift the front door of the LaserJet 3600 and push it closed. If the door does not close completely, the toner cartridge is not inserted completely. Remove it and try again. When the door is completely closed, the LaserJet 3600 is ready to resume printing.
