How to Delete Songs Off the iPod Using Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player does not provide support for iPod management out of the box, but you can easily enable this functionality with the help add-on programs which expand the functionality of the program. With an iPod management add-on installed, you can easily manage their iPod music library directly from the Windows Media Player interface. Before using Windows Media Player to manage your iPod, it is necessary to enable disk usage mode through iTunes to ensure maximum compatibility with Windows Media Player.

Enable Disk Usage Mode for iPod

Connect the iPod to your computer using the USB cable.

Launch iTunes.

Select your iPod from the navigational tree.

Select the "Summary" tab.

Check "Enable disk usage."

Click "Apply" in the bottom-right to finish. Exit iTunes once this is complete.

Both MGTEK dopisp and XPlay 3 are available as 30-day free trials, after which it is necessary to purchase a license. Although the third option, wmPod, is free, you may prefer one of the paid options because development continues for these programs while wmPod has not been updated since 2006, according to the software homepage.
