How to Talk to a Girl at a Bar
On a Friday or Saturday night, bars are teeming with people who are out to have fun with their friends and maybe even meet someone new. If you are standing at the bar and see a girl that you are interested in, it can be a bit intimidating to walk over and strike up a conversation, but just remember that talking to a girl in a bar is the same as talking to someone in any other social situation.

1
Approach her with confidence. Stand tall and walk with your head up so that you can make eye contact naturally. You do not want to approach someone who you have just met slouched over with your head down. This can be off-putting and you may seem as if you do not really want to talk with her.
-
2
Maintain eye contact and introduce yourself. Eye contact is a great way to show that you are comfortable in the situation and with yourself. Introduce yourself first and do not to rely on a pick-up line. Pick-up lines are often silly or overly-forward and can cause a girl to lose interest in you quickly.

3
Ask her what she is drinking and if you can buy her a drink. This gesture shows that you are interested.

4
Ask her questions about her interests. Ask things such as where she is from, if she works or goes to school in the area or more specific questions geared toward your surroundings. For instance, if you are in a club, ask her what type of music she likes. If you are in a sports bar, ask her what sports and teams she likes. If you are in a traditional watering hole, ask her if she likes to play pool or darts, then ask her if she would like to play a round of either game.
-
5
Listen to her answers. Listening is vital to talking to a girl in a bar. Carefully listening to her answers will allow you to expand the conversation by adding relevant commentary and asking other relevant questions.
-
6
Tell her some jokes. Laughter can keep a girl interested in your conversation. After you have established a rapport and you both feel comfortable, you can tell a few jokes. Be careful, however, and do not tell any jokes that involve politics, religion, race or sexual orientation, as they can be offensive and could lead to the conversation ending quickly.
