ISA server provides proxy capabilities.

The Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server provides administrators with the ability to proxy user Internet traffic. The ISA replaced Microsoft's old proxy server with faster communication and better administrator functionality. The ISA server can be used to filter unwanted website traffic, such as browsing inappropriate websites. The server's functionality also allows you to log any traffic and allocate bandwidth.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the Windows "Start" button and select "Control Panel." Double-click "Administrative Tools." Double-click "ISA Server Console" in the administrative tools. This opens the ISA software's main configuration window.

    • 2

Double-click "HTTP Filter" in the list of services displayed in the main details page. This opens a new settings window. Click the "Headers" tab. Headers are keywords or phrases used to identify a website and which can be used to block these websites.

    • 3

Click the "Add" button. In the window that opens, select "Request Headers." Type the name of the website. For instance, if you are blocking "Limewire.com," enter Limewire in the header text box.

    • 4

Click the "OK" button. Click the "OK" button again at the main configuration window. The website is now blocked from access on the ISA server.
