How to Use a Flash Saving Plugin 1.2 to Save a YouTube Video

Flash Saving Plugin allows you to download YouTube videos.

YouTube is a popular website that hosts video files for people to view for free. Because YouTube's operations are supported by ad revenue, the website is designed so that you must visit the site and see the advertisements in order to view videos. However, using certain Web browser add-ons, it is possible to download your favorite YouTube videos and save them on your computer. Save YouTube videos using the Flash Saving Plugin, a free program by UNH Solutions.

Instructions

1. Browse to the download page for Flash Saving Plugin using the link in Resources. Scroll down to "Flash Saving Plugin," and click the blue "Download" button.

2. Click "Run" in the file download window that appears, then click "Run" again when a security warning appears. The installation window for Flash Saving Plugin appears.

3. Click "Next," "I Agree," "Install" and "Finish." The Flash Saving Plugin is installed. Close Internet Explorer and re-open it. An icon shaped like a film reel is now present at the top of the Internet Explorer window. The icon displays the word "Flash" when the mouse pointer is hovered over it.

4. Browse to the YouTube video that you want to save to your computer. Click to highlight the entire contents of the address bar at the top of the browser window, beginning with "http://" and ending with a string of letters and numbers. Right-click the highlighted text, then click "Copy."

5. Click the "Flash" button at the top of the browser window, then click "Save YouTube Video." A new window appears.

6. Right-click the box next under "YouTube Video URL," and click "Paste." The address that you copied appears in the box.

7. Click the "Browse" button. Navigate to the location on your computer where you want to save the video, then click "OK."

8. Click the drop-down menu under "Action" and select "Download Video."

9. Click "OK." The YouTube video is downloaded to your computer.

Tips & Warnings
