How to Crack a Whip Like Indiana Jones
Young erstwhile adventurers and budding archaeologists often look up to Indiana Jones, that whip-cracking professor-adventurer made famous by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. The original trilogy was so popular that Spielberg and Lucas reunited with star Harrison Ford to make a fourth movie in 2008. Countless people, young and old, put together Indiana Jones Halloween costumes each year. Many Indie enthusiasts try to emulate his bullwhip cracking skills, though this can often result in broken objects and injuries. You should practice your whip cracking skills in a wide open space free of breakables and people before showcasing them for others. With practice and determination, however, anyone can emulate this popular hero.

1
Hold the handle of the whip by the bottom half with your fingers wrapped firmly around the handle and your thumb parallel to it.
-
2
Flip the whip back over your shoulder then flip the handle down firmly and smoothly, bringing the whip forward. The motion is similar to swinging a hammer.
-
-
3
Swing the handle back over your shoulder, causing the end of the whip to snap and make a loud cracking noise at face-level.
-
4
Modify the forward crack into the snake killer by circling the handle of your whip over your head before brining it down. This produces a crack near the floor.
-
5
Make a sideways crack by holding the whip as in step 1 and turning your whip to the side. Bring the handle of the whip forward, angling your whip up slightly. This brings the tip of the whip out to crack in front of you.

Tips & Warnings
Keep your movements smooth and relaxed, yet firm. This involves putting muscle behind your movements without tensing up your muscles and making your movements stilted.
