How to Create Your Own Online RPG Game
Playing tabletop role-playing games seems harder to do every year. People move, lose interest or switch to computer games. As groups break up or have a difficult time meeting, online versions of traditional RPGs seem like a good alternative to face-to-face games. While there are many ways of playing an RPG online, using a Web forum is often one of the easiest.

1
Browse to a free forum website and set up an account. Each site works a little differently, but you should be able to have a fully functioning forum for free within just a few minutes.
-
2
Set up two forum areas: a place where people can put current versions of their character stats, bios and activities and a spot where you will play the actual game.
-
-
3
Create an initial posting with the details of the game, its setting and any special rules it will use. It is often a good idea to sticky this post.
-
4
Make an initial environment/setting post to get the ball rolling.
-
5
Allow the players to respond to your post and to each other.
-
6
Decide when turns will change, such as 2 p.m. and 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, to allow people time to perform turn-based activities.
-
7
Use the turn-change times to post environmental and combat updates.
-
8
Keep each collection of events in a single thread, treated as a typical game session.
