How to Clean a Camelbak Water Hose

The most challenging part of cleaning your Camelbak is the tubing, but the procedure is not too difficult when you follow the appropriate steps.

  • Camelbak system
  • Derailleur cable
  • Paper towels
  • Soap

      Pull the tubing away from the bladder.

      Remove the bit valve from the end of the tubing.

    • 3

      Push a clean derailleur cable through the entire length of the tubing, knob-end first.

    • 4

      Slide a small piece of paper towel moistened with soapy water through the cable.

    • 5

      Pull the cable through the tube slowly while squeezing the tube together 1 inch in front of the knob-end of the cable.

      Repeat Steps 1 through 5 until the paper towel comes out clean.
