The WEP key on a Netopia router and modem combination device is a term used to describe the password computer users must enter to gain access to the wireless network being created by the device. The router and modem combo unit keeps track of this password in its memory, and won't let any computers access the network if the WEP key isn't entered correctly. If you forget this code, you can reset the password on your Netopia router and modem by using the "reset" button on the back of the device.

Instructions

1. Turn your Netopia router and modem combination unit around so you can see the back panel.

2. Use the tip of a pencil or some other thin, sharp object to press in on the circular red button labeled "Reset" on the back of your Netopia router and modem combination unit.

3. Release the "Reset" button after 30 seconds. This will reset the WEP key on your Netopia router and modem combination unit. The key will be reset to its original default setting, which will be listed in the instruction manual that came with your device.
