How to Use Verizon as a Computer Modem
Most phone companies allow you to use their wireless signal to connect your computer to the Internet. Verizon has a mobile broadband feature which allows this type of connection, for a fixed monthly fee. If you have a Verizon phone, you can hook it up to your computer and be online anywhere you get a cellular signal.
Things You'll Need
- Computer with USB
- Verizon phone and active service plan
- Phone to USB connector cable (Specific to your model phone)

Turn off your phone, connect it to the USB cable and into an open USB port on your computer. Switch the phone to "On" and wait for the computer to recognize it.

Open your Network Preferences and select "Mobile Broadband." Click "Enable" and select your Verizon phone from the drop-down menu. You can see mobile broadband activity on you phone's screen in bars of service.

Open a web browser. The first screen you are taken to is Verizon's Mobile Broadband sign up page. Review the plan and prices and click "Agree." Your phone bill will be charged for the price and terms you agreed to. You can now surf the web using your Verizon phone as a modem.
