How to Create My Own MP3 Ringtones for My Virgin Mobile Phone

Create your own MP3 ringtones for your Virgin Mobile phone.

Almost every cell phone offers you the capability to add your own ringtones to it, but the way that you do so depends upon the cell phone itself as well as your cell-phone service provider. A variety of sources exist from which you can get premade ringtones, but you can create your own if you want. With a Virgin Mobile phone, you can create your own MP3 ringtones and email them to your phone in a text message.

Things You'll Need

• Audio editor
• MP3 file
• Email account
• Virgin Mobile phone

Instructions

1. Open your audio editor. (See Resources for audio-editing programs if you don't already have one installed on your computer.) Click "Open," locate the MP3 file you want to use to create your own ringtone for your Virgin Mobile phone and double click on it to open it. An image of the MP3 file is shown within the audio editor.

2. Click on the image of the MP3 file to place markers around the clip that you want to use as your ringtone. Click on the "Save Selection As" button and name your ringtone.

3. Open your email account and create a new email message addressed to your 10-digit Virgin Mobile cell-phone number followed by Virgin Mobile's text-messaging extension (e.g. [e-mail]). Attach your ringtone to your email message, and click "Send." Note that the email message is delivered to your Virgin Mobile phone as a text message.

4. Click "View" on your Virgin Mobile phone to open the text message. Then press the right soft key for "Options" and select "Save as Ringtone" from the options listed to save the ringtone to your phone.

Tips & Warnings

• Keep your ringtone under 30 seconds long because your phone won't ring longer than that.

• Text-messaging fees might be charged to your account, depending upon your Virgin Mobile calling or data plans.
