  • Vase
  • Water
  • White sugar
  • Household bleach
  • 2 tsp. lemon or lime juice
  • Spoon
  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda

Instructions

  1. Citrus Juice and Bleach Preservative

    • 1

      Fill a vase with 1 qt. of lukewarm water. Make sure the vase is clean with no traces of any previous substances left inside.

      Add 1 tsp. of white sugar, 1 tsp. of household bleach and 2 tsp. of lemon or lime juice. Stir the ingredients with a spoon to thoroughly combine.

      Place the flowers inside of the vase. Change the preservative water every three to four days.

    Lemon-Lime Soda Preservative

      Fill a clean vase with 1 cup of cool water. Add 1 cup of lemon-lime soda and ½ tsp. of household bleach.

      Stir the ingredients with a spoon to combine.

      Place the cut flowers into the vase. Change the preservative water every three to four days.

    Vinegar and Sugar Preservative

      Fill a vase with 1 qt. of lukewarm water. Make sure the vase is clean with no traces of any previous substances left inside.

      Add 2 tbsp. of white vinegar and 2 tbsp. of white sugar to the vase. Stir the ingredients with a spoon to combine.

      Place the cut flowers inside of the vase. Change the water preservative every three to four days.
