How to Make a Bootable ISO With Nero Lite

Create a bootable ISO from any CD or DVD you own with Nero Lite.

Nero Lite is a repackaging of Nero Multimedia Suite that does not include all of the programs that the Multimedia Suite includes. As a result, Nero Lite is free to download. Nero Lite contains the program Nero Burning Rom, which is the program used to create bootable ISO files. The Lite version of Nero Burning Rom does not contain all of the minute customizable options that are available in the Multimedia Suite version, but the Lite version will get the job done.

Instructions

1. Open the Nero Burning Rom program from within the Nero Lite folder on your computer.

2. Take the disc you want to make an image of and insert it into your computer's disc drive.

3. Click the "Recorder" tab at the top of the Nero Burning Rom window, and select "Copy Disc" from the drop-down menu.

4. Choose the location on your computer where you want the ISO file to save by clicking a location in the window that appears. Click the "Save" button when you are finished. Nero Burning Rom will begin copying the disc and creating the ISO file.

Tips & Warnings

• Allow several minutes for the copying process to complete.

• You will need a virtual drive on your computer to be able to boot up the ISO file.
