How to Make a Resume With Word 2007
Microsoft Word 2007 gives you tools that enable you to create a professional resume, so your resume can stand out. If you are new to resume writing or are not sure where to begin, you can choose from the selection of resume templates in the program. You can then customize the resume to meet your specific needs. You'll find formatting and proof-reading tools that can help you make a resume for that next job.

Make your resume from a template in Word 2007 by selecting the Office Ribbon, clicking on "New," and choosing "Resumes" from "Templates."

Choose the type of resume you want to create from the right pane---"Basic resumes," "Job-specific resumes," or "Situation-specific resumes." Then preview the resume designs as you scroll through the options, select the resume you want and click on "Download." The template will appear on your page.

Highlight the heading that includes a placeholder for a name and contact information and replace it with your details. To bold that area, select the "Home" tab from the Ribbon and click on the "Bold" button, or "Ctrl+B."

Select the date of employment, employer's name and location. Starting with the most recent position, add your employment history, duties and accomplishments.

Use bullets to highlight any accomplishments by selecting the line where the bullet will appear. Then click on the "Home" tab and select the "Bullets" button from the "Paragraph" group.

Go to the educational section of your resume and update it with your information, starting with your most recent degree or achievement. You can include your school, degree or major, graduation date, and grade point average.

Insert any related skills for the job you're applying for by placing your cursor over the existing text and typing over it.

Check for spelling and grammatical errors by selecting the "Review" tab and clicking on "Spelling and Grammar," or using the shortcut: "F7." Then save and print your resume.
