How to Put Antifreeze in a 2005 Chevy Uplander

When the coolant levels run low on your 2005 Chevrolet Uplander, you run the risk of overheating the engine and causing damage to its components. To avoid expensive repair bills and engine overhauls, add coolant to the system when it runs below the recommended level. Check the coolant level in your Uplander regularly to keep the engine performing at its best. Use a 50-50 mix of DEX-COOL antifreeze and water in the cooling system, as recommended by Chevrolet.

Park your Uplander on a level surface. Raise the hood, resting it on the support rod. Make sure the engine is cool.

    • 2

Check the coolant level in the coolant reservoir. The coolant should reach the "FULL COLD" line. Find the reservoir on the driver's side of the engine, near the air filter. Remove the cover from the reservoir by pulling it straight off.

Add a 50-50 blend of DEX-COOL antifreeze and water to the coolant reservoir to bring the level to the "FULL COLD" marker on the reservoir. Pour the fluid blend directly into the opening on the reservoir. Replace the cover by pushing it into place until it is secure. Close the hood.
