Make Tech Deck skateboarding more enjoyable by learning how to jump onto ramps and grind rails.

With the invention of the Tech Deck skateboard, kids can now skate anytime they want--with their fingers. After Tech Decks became popular, miniature skate parks and ramps began to emerge for enthusiasts to add to their hobby of finger boarding. However, guiding a tiny skateboard with your fingers is a lot different than stepping on a real board. Learning how to jump onto Tech Deck ramps, fun boxes, and grind rails gives you more ways to impress your friends with your finger boarding skills.

Instructions

  1. The Right Way

    • 1

Set up your stance. Lie your hand flat, with your palm down. Put your back finger (middle finger) just behind the bolts so that your finger covers the two bolts furthest towards the tail. Put your index finger right on the front bolts.

    • 2

Begin rolling your Tech Deck towards the ramp.

    • 3

Slam down on the tail with your back finger about 2 to 3 inches away from the ramp. Tweak your hand so that it is sideways, as if you were to shake someone's hand.

    • 4

Use a slight scooping motion to get the board off the ground. Raise your hand as you scoop and guide the board upwards to get more height.

    • 5

Slide your front finger up towards the nose at the climax of your jump to level your Tech Deck out. Begin bringing your hand down, turning it back into the flat position, guiding your board to where you want to land on the ramp.

Tips & Warnings

  • Learning how to jump onto a Tech Deck ramp takes a lot of practice and concentration. Use a rubber band by wrapping it around your Tech Deck long ways, and slipping your fingers underneath to be able to ollie with ease.

  • Don't slam your Tech Deck down after you jump onto a ramp as it may cause your trucks to come loose or break.
