1
Build a rectangular frame out of pine boards. Aim for 4 feet wide and 8 feet long, and make sure it is at least 4 1/2 inches high. Use metal brackets to secure the corners of the frame.
-
2
Attach 2-by-4 support beams width-wise inside the frame. Nail them in on the ends. Space them out so there will be no weak spots when you are walking on the top.

3
Cut a plywood board to the dimensions of the frame and nail onto the top. The ends of the plywood should be flush with the sides of the frame. Using your compass and pencil, draw a circle 4 1/4 inches in diameter for the hole. Leave a foot or two on either side of the hole.
-
4
Cut the hole out with your jigsaw. Take your time to ensure it is the right size and the edges are as smooth as possible.
-
5
Glue green indoor-outdoor carpet or astroturf onto the plywood. Apply glue to both the top of the board and underside of carpet. Pull tightly to avoid any bunching up or bulges in your green. Trim off any over hang with a carpet knife.
-
6
Cut out the hole and insert a cup, container or golf hole cup. You can purchase one online or at your local golf supply store.

Tips & Warnings
If you would like more surface area or more holes just use the same materials but change the dimensions.
Consider using PVC tube to run a bumper around the edges of the green to keep the ball from falling off.
