How to Pack Cookies for a Care Package

Cookies are a great treat to include in care packages.

Care packages are gifts that include comfort items like food. Send care packages to people who live away from home to let them know you are thinking of them. Include treats like home-baked cookies in the package. If you're worried that the cookies will go stale by the time they get to the recipient, don't let it stop you. There is a specific way to pack cookies so they arrive fresh and delicious.

Things You'll Need

• Old coffee can
• Bread
• Bubble wrap

Instructions

1. Bake cookies the day you plan to mail them.

2. Let the cookies cool completely before packing them.

3. Separate soft cookies from hard cookies if you are making more than one type.

4. Place cookies in an empty, clean coffee can with a lid.

5. Put a slice of bread inside the coffee can if you are sending soft cookies. The bread will help the soft cookies stay moist.

6. Wrap the can of cookies in 2 inches of bubble wrap before putting it in the mailing box. This will keep cookies from sliding around and breaking apart.
