Your Philips universal remote can be programmed to control most major brand TVs, cable boxes and satellite boxes by using the code for that specific brand. If you have lost the code list for your Philips universal remote, you can still program the remote by trying the codes here or checking the Philips website.

HDTV Philips Remote Codes

Your Philips universal remote can control most brands of HDTVs including Sony, Vizio, LG and Samsung. Press and hold the "Setup" button on your remote until the remote light turns red and stays red. Press the "TV" button on the Philips universal remote and enter the code for your specific TV. Common Sony TV codes include 0414, 0902, 0801, 0708, 0639 and 0816. Vizio TV codes are 0709 and 1702, while LG codes are 0002, 0606, 0502, 0102, 0117, 0814, 0324, 0435, 0802, 0307, 0609 and 0217. Samsung codes are 0112, 0309, 0209, 0512, 0302, 0502, 0002, 0102, 0110, 0818 and 0895.

After entering the code, press the "Power" button on your remote to turn off your HDTV. If it works, then the remote has successfully been programmed. If it doesn't work, repeat the process by pressing and holding the "Setup" button and then pressing "TV." Enter a different code. Keep trying codes until one works for your specific TV.

Cable Box Philips Remote Codes

Your Philips universal remote can also be programmed to control many brands of cable boxes from cable providers such as Comcast and Time Warner. Program your remote by pressing and holding the "Setup" button until the remote light turns red and stays on. Press the "Cbl" button on the remote and enter the code for your cable box. AT&T and Comcast cable boxes use the codes 0752 and 0954, while Motorola cable boxes use the codes 0552, 0148, 0952, 0453, 0654, 0754 and 0048. Time Warner boxes use the code 0252, and GE cable boxes use the code 0556.

After entering the code, press the "Channel Up" or "Channel Down" button to change the channel on your box. If the channel changes, your remote has been successfully programmed. If it doesn't, repeat the process to try the other possible codes.

Satellite Box Philips Remote Codes

Satellite boxes can also be controlled by your Philips universal remote control after programming. Press and hold the "Setup" button on your remote until the red light on the remote comes on. Press the "Sat" button toward the top of the remote and then type in the remote code for your satellite box. DIRECTV boxes use a variety of different Philips remote codes including 0863, 0864, 0564, 0963, 0259, 0260, 0664, 0065, 0265, 0465, 0362 and 0563. Dish Network boxes use the codes 0464, 0167, 0366, 0862, 0067, 0067, 0460, 0560 and 0660. Motorola satellite boxes use the codes 0466 and 0463, while Hughes Network boxes use 0864, 0763, 0765, 0465, 0564, 0362 and 0659.

Press the "Channel Up" or "Channel Down" button to try changing the channel after programming the remote. If the channel does not change, you need to try one of the other codes for your box. You can go to the Philips universal remote website to find other codes for your remote if none of the codes listed work or if you have a different manufacturer than those listed here.
