How to Recover Deleted Contacts in Outlook 2003

Outlook 2003 is a widely-used email client in Microsoft operating systems. With Outlook, you can send and receive emails, schedule appointments on your calendar and store your contacts all in one place. If you accidentally deleted the contents in your Contacts folder, you can recover them back using your computer registry editor.

      Close down Outlook 2003.

      Hit the Start button and select "Run..." Type "regedit" without the quotes. Press the "Enter" key. THis will launch your "Registry Editor."

      Navigate to the following registry: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" > "Software" > "Microsoft" > "Exchange" > "Client" > "Options."

      Click on "Edit" tab on the top menu and point your cursor to "New." Select "DWORD Value."

      Type "DumpsterAlwaysOn" without the quotes. Do NOT add any spaces either.

      Set the "DWORD" value to "1" without the quotes.

      Relaunch Outlook 2003. Double-click on the "Deleted Items" folder. Click on "Tools" and select "Recovered Deleted Items" to retrieve the deleted contacts.
