If you are hosting a graduation party you can save money by printing your own invitations for free at home. The supplies you need can be found at craft or office-supply stores. You will also need to use a printer and word-processing software.

Instructions

1. Type the text of your invitation into a word document. This will include the title of your party, the time, date, location, directions, dress code and any other pertinent information.

2. Change the font to suit the feel of your party. Choose a formal block-lettered font if your invitation is formal. Choose a less formal font if your party will be casual. Choose the font style, color and size to highlight important information, such as the time and date of the party.

3. If desired, add a border by highlighting all of the text and selecting borders and shading from the toolbar. Perform a search for borders on your word-processing software if you cannot find it. Choose a formal lined border if your party is formal. Choose a picture border or brightly colored border if your party is casual.

4. If your invitation is small, copy and paste it several times on one page to save paper. You may need to change the borders of the page to allow invitations to fit side-by-side.

5. Print your graduation party invitations on heavyweight paper to give it a more professional appearance. If your invitation does not have a lot of color, you may choose to print it on colored paper.
