LCD projectors are powerful business tools

An LCD projector allows you to share the information on your computer screen with everyone in the room, making it easier to conduct training sessions, product demonstrations and other business functions. While those who plan to take the show on the road generally use a laptop to connect to the projector, when the training sessions and demos are held in-house, a desktop computer might be more appropriate.

Instructions

    • 1

Find a suitable spot for the projector and computer on the conference room table. When positioning the computer, choose a spot where you can sit comfortably and access the computer keyboard and mouse.

    • 2

Connect one end of the monitor cable to the monitor port on the computer. This port will be small and nearly square, and it is often blue in color. Turn the thumbscrews to fasten the cable securely in place.

    • 3

Connect the other end of the monitor cable to the monitor port on the LCD projector. This port is often marked with a monitor symbol, or with the word "monitor." The port on the LCD projector will look the same as the one on the desktop computer. Make sure this end of the cable is securely fastened as well.

    • 4

Connect the power cord to the LCD projector and plug it into an outlet. Turn on the projector. Wait for the projector to come up, then power on the computer.

    • 5

Press the "Input" button on the top of the projector repeatedly until the computer screen appears on the display. Projectors are capable of connecting to many different devices, including televisions, DVD players, VCRs and thumb drives. The "Input" button tells the projector which device to use.
